Has a D.Sc. from the School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Engineering at the Technion. He is married to Tami, and lives in Kiryat Tivon with their 4 children. Shlomo has worked for many years in the USA and Israel in the High-Tech industry inventing and developing medical devices. For the past 25 years, he has been working as an independent consultant accompanying start-ups in this field and focusing on the clinical aspects and business development of the many ideas and inventions in Israel. In recent years he has been involved in several innovative projects designed for the diagnosis and treatment of the digestive system and thus gained a deep understanding of all the business and public aspects of colorectal cancer.
Coping with colorectal cancer:
* To provide emotional support for patients with colorectal cancer, survivors of the cancer, and their family members.
* To provide professional and accessible information in Hebrew and Arabic.
* To assist in the exercise of healthcare rights.
Prevention:
* To provide medical and health information to the public. Raise awareness of the general public regarding the importance of prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer in order to lower the scope of morbidity and mortality.
* To produce and distribute printed and digital information materials to the general public regarding the disease, the possible test methods, and the medical staff entrusted with performing the tests.
* To assist the public in exercising their healthcare rights to perform the tests required, via providing appropriate information.
* Target specific populations at above-average risk in order to increase their responsiveness to testing.
* To encourage the health authorities to act and prevent the disease.
"המצפן" הוא ארגון התנדבותי שמטרתו להעצים מטופלים באמצעות כלים וידע שיעזרו להם לנהל ולהתמודד עם מחלת הסרטן. הליווי נעשה ע"י סטודנטים לרפואה שעוברים הכשרה מקצועית- מתוך מטרה להשפיע על הרופאים שיהפכו להיות.
תרומות יגיעו להכשרת הסטודנטים המלווים, ליצירת תכנים וכלים למטופלים, ולשאר הפעילות השוטפת של הארגון בהתאם למטרותיו.
